thomasondrums: "Strange 80's" Drumming

2017 thomasondrums highlights:

My year behind the drums was all about LIVE shows! I played in shows at Orange County School of the Arts – Commercial Music Conservatory, Los Rios Rock School and the pro gigs with Johnny Vatos’ Oingo Boingo Dance Party.

One of the coolest gigs for me was playing at the benefit concert for Sweet Relief Musician’s Fund – their “Strange 80’s” concert at the Fonda Theater in Hollywood, California.

I want to say that it was Rob that personally invited our band from Los Rios Rock School to open the show – and I was glad that I had the chance to hang out with him before the show. I thanked Rob for inviting us, and he was so kind to introduce me to so many of the headliners. Rob was a super nice man, and my family and I were so sad to learn that four months following this show, Rob Max passed away in his sleep. My family and I attended his memorial service in Laguna Beach. May he rest in peace.

I had a great time performing, and meeting so many artists that we shared the stage with: Jack Black and Kyle Gass (Tenacious D), Corey Taylor (Slipknot & Stone Sour), Scott Ian (Anthrax), Weird Al Yankovic, Jane Wiedlin (Go-Go’s) and so many more! Please help out Sweet Relief Musician’s Fund!

Christmas 2017 with Oingo Boingo Former Members

I had another awesome night performing with Johnny Vatos’ Oingo Boingo Dance Party for our “Santa vs. Satan” 2017 Holiday Show at the Canyon in Santa Clarita, California on December 23rd! It really is a dance party at these shows, and it was an awesome way to rock the Christmas season! I send my thanks to everyone for coming out, and I look forward to the next one!
